Junk removal in Black Forest, with the slash pile
Black Forest is wooded acreage north-east of the city, ponderosa pine on sandy soil, houses set back among the trees on lots measured in acres. It is beautiful, it is exposed, and every spring the people who live there cut brush, limbs and dead material back from their houses and need the pile gone.
Mitigation is the Black Forest call. The Front Range foothills and the Forest carry real wildfire exposure, and the recognised seasonal work is to clear scrub oak, ladder fuels and dead pine back from the structures and to move stored combustibles, the lumber pile, the old fence sections, the firewood under the deck, away from the house. We do not do the cutting; an arborist or the homeowner does that. We are the truck that takes the pile, and we take the lumber and the fence boards on the same trip because that is when people get rid of them. We make no claim to any programme, grant or certification; we haul.
The rest of the year the Forest is like Falcon with more trees: outbuildings, acreage clearouts, estates in houses built by people who meant to stay forever, and the long gravel drive that decides where the truck can turn around. See the brush and slash page for how a pile is priced and the mitigation guide for what goes in it.
Access
A pile at the back of five acres is not always reachable by a box truck. The look is free and that is when the route gets worked out: where the truck stands, whether a smaller vehicle shuttles, how many trips. Sandy ground after rain is the thing to watch; a stuck truck helps nobody.
The calls we get from Black Forest
Mitigation slash
Branches, scrub oak and dead pine after the cut, priced by the truck because brush compresses well. Stored lumber and fence boards ride along.
Acreage and outbuildings
Sheds, the pile behind the barn, tires, wire and the machine that stopped. Full trucks, metal to scrap.
Estates and move-outs
Big houses on big lots cleared with the family, with a dated receipt and a donation list if the estate needs it.

Questions from Black Forest
Do you cut the brush?
No. We haul what's been cut. Book the arborist first and us for the day after, or cut it yourself and call when the pile is ready.
Is there a program that pays for this?
We don't claim one and won't advise on it. What we give you is a dated receipt for whatever you need it for.
How much is a mitigation pile?
Brush is light, so by the truck: roughly half a truck to a full one for a typical lot's cut. The lumber and fence boards add volume, not much weight. The crew looks and names it.
Can you get to the back of the lot?
Usually. The look is free and that's where the route is worked out. Sandy ground after rain is the one thing that can change the plan.
Do you take firewood?
Yes. Old, punky firewood under the deck is exactly the stored combustible a clear-out is meant to move.
